I’m in Sofa Ecstasy!
For well over 2 years we had been trying to replace our 35 year old leather (ugh) sofa and loveseat. The pandemic made it impossible to in-store shop anyway. But before any purchase we had lots of criteria..1 being the layout of our rooms in our 1300 sq ft house. I am a firm believer that tiny furniture in a small house just makes it look even smaller. Our high ceilings and open floor plan have always made it not claustrophobic.
We wanted VERY modern, clean lines,no more than 40" depth, low sides, black metal legs, plush cushions,no buttons or seams,a (catwalk) frame for Kimball the kitty and soft, comfortable, dark charcoal grey fabric with no itchy wool and no scratchy factor. An impossible task? After 2 years of searching online and literally hundreds of fabric swatches..
BINGO!!!!!! The Catwalk in Shepard Flint was *IT*! Room size restraints eliminated a sofa with a loveseats so we thought outside our "box" and decided on a 125" sectional with 80" bumper. That was it. Done. Finis. We placed the order knowing, that as seniors, this would be our last sofa purchase so we wanted to get it right..and with the WOW! factor!
As time went on we have to admit to some panic attacks: We just spent $$$$ on a sofa sight unseen in person and sight un-sit in person. Rarely does anything look exactly like it appears on a computer screen. Even with the 100-day return I just couldn't imagine going through that and looking again. (Customer service was awesome throughout…
